Thomas' Blessing.

So we will be blessing Thomas this Sunday May 4 in Palmer. We are sad that Amy and Jake can't be there. We really wish they could be but Jake has to work and tried to get out of it and couldn't. Ben really feels like we need to do it this weekend so that is what we are going to do. We hope that everyone else will be able to make it and can't wait to show Thomas off!

Getting so big.

I can't believe that it has almost been 3 weeks since Thomas was born. Both Ben and I are tired but so happy! Today was Thomas' first time at church. The kids in my CTR 5 class loved him and all wanted to hold and sit by him. Amy's kids have loved having Thomas around. Jacob especially loves to hold him and is always around when Thomas is upstairs. Amy has been a great help with Breast-feeding and helping keep Thomas awake in the evening so that he will sleep better at night. And has even offered to babysit. (But we are not ready to leave him yet, even for a few minutes.) But it has been nice to have the help. We will be having our first road trip this weekend. We will be going to Palmer for Lily's baptism. Thomas will be meeting a lot of family! And we can't wait to introduce him to Grandma Love, Grandpa Oborn, most of his aunts, uncles, and cousins! Well time for him to eat again!

Dr appt today.

We went to the doctor today and she said that Thomas is healthy and we can take him off the billi-light! Yeah! He has finally nursing fairly well and eating about every 3 hours. He is almost back up to his birth weight. He sleeps really well and we are so happy to have him in our family. Grandpa Oborn is coming up this weekend to pick up Grandma Oborn and can't wait to meet Thomas. We are planing on Blessing Thomas in June in Palmer at the Matanuska Ward. We hope you can all be there!

He is here!

Well Thomas is finally here! I can't believe it. It took longer then I thought it would. My water broke at 4am on Monday morning, and he was born at 11:21pm Tuesday night, but he is so worth it. He has a little jaundice and so is using a billi-light, but the doctor says he should be fine this next week. He is such a good baby and only cries when he is hungry. Ben is a great daddy just like I knew he would be. He helps at night and had changed more dippers then me, after all he needs more practice then me. LOL! Well we will post more pictures soon!

Is this the day?

So we thought today was going to be "the day" I woke up with contractions. They weren't very strong but they were constant so we went for a walk and they got stronger. I decided to take a shower witch slowed them down some so we walk some more. The contractions were coming about 6 min apart and lasting almost a min. We were getting very excited, I decided to lay down and Ben rubbed my feet. My contractions a now died down and are now only coming every 15 to 20 min, and lasting about 1 min. So maybe tonight, or maybe in 3 more weeks!!! Oh well I can't be pregnant forever.....RIGHT!!!

Dogs!

So Ben left for school this morning, and about an hour latter I got a call from the next door neighbor telling me that 2 of our 3 dogs were running lose. So I jump out of bed (in my nightgown) and run outside, Bruno our brown almost 200 lb Newfoundland was standing next to the house so I grab him and throw him into the garage (sorry Amy we will clean it out really good before you get home) I went into the back yard only to discover that none of the dogs are in the pen. There is how ever a giant hole dug under the fence! (Dang it Paris) So I yell for Paris (our only dog that comes to her name) and about 2 min latter she comes running. So I throw her in the garage with Bruno, but I am still missing Lady. Crap! So I go inside and put a coat on seeing as though I am now going to have to search the neighborhood for her. I find her down by the airfield and get her to come home and throw her into the garage with the other 2. I went back to the back yard to see if I can fix the fence without Ben but no such luck. So I am as patiently as I can waiting for Ben to get home to fix it and get them back into the pen.

PS We will be looking for a new home for our 2 purebred Newfoundland in the next few months. The have great lines, and really sweet dogs and can be breed now they are 18 mo old, and from different blood lines. Lady is black and is about 130 lbs and Bruno is brown and about 180 lbs. They don't eat as much as you would think and don't need much exercise.

So Ben and I were talking this morning about how this might be our last summer in Alaska for a few years and so are planing on spending a lot of time out at Jim Creek. We want to invite the family out for the 4th of July. Becky and her family came out with us 2 years ago and we had a blast! I can't wait for Ben to see a real Utah 4th of July next summer but I know how much he will miss spending it out at Jim Creek. For those that don't know what that is I am trying to get some pics posted. But you do know that Ben is a "Butte Boy" so there is mud and 4 wheelers and big trucks, and his favorite the sand dunes. It feeds into the Kink river and we are talking about maybe going out to the glacier but that will just depend on how much mud is in the beaver ponds. Anyway I think it could be a lot of fun so let us know.

Oh and Ben is pretty sure we can get enough 4x vehicles to get everyone that wants to out there. We all know we have more then our share of them!
