Cloth Diapers.....

So I am not sure when it happened but I have apparently become a crazy person. As most of you know Ben can get a little crazy when it comes to chemicals around and in our kids because of this I have to. The more research I do the crazier I become. It started when I got pregnant with Thomas. The more I read about birth the more I decided I wanted to go natural. Then after he was done nursing I couldn't use formula because he broke out in hives, then I found out how much estrogen was in Soy formula. No way was Ben going to let us give that to our son and I agreed. So we used goats milk. Then the bottles BPA very bad, Ben was about that before the FDC said it was bad. So the $10 born free bottles for us. Then in August we were back in Alaska for a quick visit and Tammy got me thinking about cloth diapers. Thomas has always been way sensitive to disposable diapers, we could only use Huggies. When Adelaide came along our diaper budget was crazy we were spending around $70 a month! So when Tammy offered me 7 cloth diapers to try out I took them. He has only used cloth since (accept for the few days I was in the hospital.) So when PFDs came in more cloth diapers were on the top of my list. They came in yesterday! They are so cute and I love them. I got enough to diaper both Thomas and Adelaide. They are all in ones witch means I can use the same ones for both of them and even for a new baby when it comes along. Oh and did I mention that they are made with Hemp. Yeah Ben loves that! And they are made in the USA! Can't go wrong with that.

My life......

Just another day in the life of a SAHM.....

It is 4:30pm Ben is at work, Thomas is sleeping next to me, and Adelaide is playing with the toys that Thomas dumped out all over this morning. I am to tiered to do anything, between AF, the pain in my side coming back so I took a pain killer, and being up all night helping Ben get his homework done, there is no energy left for anything. So here I sit, thinking about what I m going to feed the kidos and at what point I can get them both down for the night so I can climb into my bed.

Why do I do this?

So today was the first episode of the Biggest Loser. I love that show. I have watched it for a few years now and I always say I am going to do that. And than I sit a=on the sofa watching them workout, all the while eating to my hearts content. I am not hungry but I find myself going into the kitchen as if something in there will fill "that hole". What do I need to fill "that hole"? I don't know but I know that it is not in the kitchen. With Ben gone as much as he is I get lonely, and so I find comfort in kitchen. I am not sure what to do about it but I am going to find it out.....

I'm the mom....

When did that happen? Don't get me wrong I love being a mom, but some days I still can't believe I am the mom. I have two great kids and we are "working" on a 3. I spend all day and night with my kidos and they have become very attached. I have only left Adelaide a hand full of times with Kimber (who we miss terrible). Ben wants to be able to spend time with them witch I get but I need a brake now and then. Oh how I want a really date night with out kids. I find myself telling Thomas when trying to get him to do something he doesn't want to do that I am the mom. Just do what I say and stop telling me no! By the end of the night I am just done being the mom.
Ben is gone a lot. Between school, work, and training for his new job he is never home so now I feel like a single mom. I have been dropping Ben off at school and picking him up giving our family about an hour of time to be together (in the van) Our few hours between school and work Ben gets in a nap or homework, and at some time between 2am and 4am he sneaks into bed with me for a few hours of sleep. My poor hubby. How blessed am I to have a husband that is willing to go threw all of that to make our family's life better. On Monday I will get my hubby back for bedtime and I can't wait. But for the rest of the week I will be the mom and snuggle with my hubby when I can.

My boys are gone!

Well last night Adelaide and I took Ben and Thomas to the airport. Thomas was so excited to see the airplanes. They let me go to the gate with Ben to drop them off, apparently all you have to do is ask. It took us a little to get threw security. We had two full bottles and two full sippy cups that had to be "examined". We got a seat at our gate right in front of the window and watched "the guys" get the plane ready. We were told that the plane was fairly empty so Ben and Thomas got their own row. Thomas kept asking me if he could go on a ride. I said yes and he was so excited. When they called for pre-boarders we headed to the gate. I gave Thomas a love and kiss and he took of down the ramp, so I got a quick kiss from Ben and he ran off after him. Then they were gone.

I got a call at 3 am from Ben, Thomas and him were in the van with mom and dad, and I could hear Thomas crying. My poor baby! Ben said Thomas slept almost the whole flight. He woke up when they landed and was happy and ready to see mommy. Thomas ran down the ramp calling for me and running to a lady grabbing her leg before realizing it was not me. Thomas then lost it when Ben told him mommy wasn't there. They had a long night but things have been better as the day goes on.

i am hoping that Ben gets all the grant stuff figured out and that we can move forward from here. I miss them so much and can't wait for them to be home with us soon!

When it rains it pours.....

I know we are were we are supposed to be and doing what we are supposed to be doing so why is it life keeps sending us curve balls? Ben only has one week of classes left and then he will be taking his finales. He will then have a week off of school at witch time he and Thomas will be flying up to Alaska to try to figure out our grant situation.
We thought we had it all figured out we were told to go to Utah get into your program and then we will pay for it. So here we are thinking all is well when come to find out the gal that told us that moved and now it is like pulling teeth to get anyone to talk to us. We keep being told that we are not Alaskan residents! Hello we are paying out of state tuition, have all our vehicles register in Alaska, and still have our drivers licenses! The PFD office thinks that that makes us Alaska residents, after jumping threw all their hoops. So in order to figure this all out he is going to go walk into their offices, leaving Adelaide and I here to miss them terrible. We are planing on applying for the Rt program in November, but we just found out that they changed there prerequisites so we have to get those classes done as well before then. If we do not get into that program this time around then we will apply to their xray tech program. We have all the prerequisites for that and the deadline for that is January.
We really want to go home but are determined not to go home without our degree. It is just taking so much more time then we wanted it to!
